Privacy

What stays on your phone. Your callsign, channel, code, every recording, and every text are stored in your browser on your device. Wipe removes them from that device. Other phones in the channel keep their own copies.

What passes through relays. Messages travel through relay servers (our private relay plus a public backup) as encrypted packets. Relays can see that packets are moving and roughly how big they are. They can't read or play them, and they don't keep them.

Alerts. If you turn on alerts, our server stores your phone's push address, a scrambled fingerprint of your channel (not its name or code), and your callsign so it can send "Name sent a message." Turn alerts off with the bell and that record is deleted. Alerts are delivered by Apple, Google, or your browser's push service.

What we don't do. No accounts, no selling data, no ads, no analytics trackers.

Using Trapp Talk

• Not for emergencies. Messages can be delayed or not delivered. Call 911 or your local emergency number when it matters.
• Don't use Trapp Talk for anything illegal, to harass or threaten anyone, or to share content you don't have the right to share.
• You're responsible for who you give your channel code to. Anyone with the channel name and code can hear and save messages in that channel.
• We may block channels or relay access that are reported for abuse or that overload the service.

No warranty

Trapp Talk is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for lost messages, recordings, or damages from using the app. Features, relays, and limits can change at any time.
